The church does not replace the Kingdom. The church represents the Kingdom. We are citizens of the Kingdom. We are ambassadors of Christ.
Teaching
One of the most important — and most frequently confused — distinctions in all of Christian theology is the difference between the church and the Kingdom of God. These two realities are deeply connected but they are not the same.

The church does not replace the Kingdom. The church represents the Kingdom.
We are citizens of the Kingdom. We are ambassadors of Christ.
What Ambassadors Do
An ambassador lives in a foreign land but represents a different country. They operate under the laws and customs of their host nation while remaining fully committed to the values and authority of the nation they represent.
This is exactly our situation. We live in this world — embedded in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and civic structures. But we operate from a different set of values, a different authority, and a different ultimate allegiance. Our job is to make the Kingdom visible in whatever context we inhabit.
