Intercession — Standing in the Gap

📖 Ezekiel 22:30

Key Insight

Intercession represents one of the highest callings in prayer — standing in the gap between God and humanity on behalf of others. The intercessor becomes a spiritual bridge.

Teaching

Intercession represents one of the highest callings in prayer — standing in the gap between God and humanity on behalf of others. The intercessor becomes a spiritual bridge, pleading with God for mercy, protection, provision, and blessing for those who cannot or will not pray for themselves.

The Heart of an Intercessor

Effective intercession flows from genuine love and concern for others' welfare, not duty or obligation. The Holy Spirit gives supernatural burden for specific people, situations, or needs that require intercession. Intercession often requires long-term commitment and unwavering faith.

Areas of Intercession

Lost Souls — Pray for unbelievers' salvation and for God to remove spiritual blindness Church Leadership — Intercede for pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders Government and Society — Pray for national leaders and Kingdom values in society Global Missions — Intercede for unreached people groups and missionaries
