ETS ACADEMY · LESSON 3
The Trinity & Scripture
Teaching points
- The Trinity: one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Not three gods, not one person in three modes. One God, eternally relational.
- God the Father: the Creator, the Sustainer, the one who sends. He loves with perfect fatherly care.
- God the Son: Jesus Christ — fully God, fully man. He lived, died, rose again, and will return. He is the image of the invisible God.
- God the Holy Spirit: the indwelling presence of God in every believer. He convicts, comforts, guides, empowers, and transforms.
- The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is not a human invention — it reveals who God is, who we are, and what He has done.
Read in Scripture
- Matthew 28:19
- 2 Corinthians 13:14
- John 1:1-14
- 2 Timothy 3:16
- Hebrews 1:1-3
Reflect
- How do you understand the Trinity? Can you explain it simply?
- Which Person of the Trinity do you relate to most? Least? Why?
- How does the Bible function in your daily life — as a rulebook, a love letter, or both?
- What does it mean that the Holy Spirit lives inside you?
Put it into practice
- Read one chapter of John's Gospel this week and notice what it reveals about Jesus.
- Pray to each Person of the Trinity this week — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Spend 10 minutes in silence, listening to the Holy Spirit.
