ETS ACADEMY · LESSON 6

Ministry in the Marketplace

Teaching points

  • Your workplace is not a break from ministry — it is a primary arena for it.
  • The marketplace needs believers who represent Christ with integrity, excellence, and genuine care.
  • You don't need a pulpit to preach — your life is the sermon. How you work, speak, and treat people is the message.
  • Integration means there is no divide between sacred and secular. All of life is ministry.
  • The marketplace is often the most unreached mission field. You are already there.

Read in Scripture

  • Colossians 3:23-24
  • Matthew 5:13-16
  • 1 Peter 2:12
  • Proverbs 22:29
  • Acts 18:1-4

Reflect

  • Do you see your work as ministry, or just a way to pay the bills?
  • How does your faith show up in how you do your job?
  • Who in your workplace needs to see the love of Christ through your actions?
  • What would it look like to work with Kingdom purpose — not just professional excellence?

Put it into practice

  • Identify one way to serve a colleague or client this week.
  • Pray for your workplace by name every morning.
  • Write out how your work contributes to God's Kingdom purposes.
