← The Devoted Church
ETS ACADEMY · LESSON 6
When the Church Is Devoted, the Church Grows
Teaching points
- Acts 2 shows growth as the fruit of a people devoted to Jesus' way of life, not as the result of chasing numbers.
- The early church was recognizable because its teaching, relationships, table, prayer, generosity, and joy belonged together.
- We are responsible for devotion and faithfulness. God is responsible for the increase, timing, and harvest.
- A devoted church becomes a witness: people see a community where the risen Jesus is changing how ordinary people live together.
Read in Scripture
- Acts 2:42-47
- 1 Corinthians 3:6-9
- John 13:34-35
Reflect
- What kind of growth are you asking God for: attendance, activity, or transformed people?
- Which of the four devotions needs to become more visible in your community?
- What faithful step can you take without trying to control the outcome?
Put it into practice
- Write a one-paragraph vision for a devoted church in your context.
- Share the four Acts 2 devotions with your group and choose one practice together.
- Celebrate one sign of spiritual growth that God has already produced.
