ETS ACADEMY · LESSON 11

Engaging in My Church

Teaching points

  • Local church participation offers opportunities to worship, learn, serve, and receive care. Service is strengthened by humility and working with others.
  • Read the assigned pages in the original workbook. Use the Scripture references to examine the teaching before answering the reflection and knowledge check.

Read in Scripture

  • 1 Corinthians 12:12–27
  • Ephesians 4:11–16

Reflect

  • Where might your abilities and the needs of your church meet?
  • What does the passage teach, and what is one question you want to explore with a mentor?

Put it into practice

  • Ask a ministry leader about one practical way to serve and what preparation it requires.
